Its beyond me why retailers are suspect on implementing newer hammocks to their store product line-up. With one of our merchants located at beautiful Siesta Key, they can’t keep our lounger chairs stocked enough. They are selling incredibly well these days. I have met with resorts, hotels and beach stores unique to the hammock environment and why they don’t come aboard is beyond me. Oh well, I can only hope that people continue to search for our hammocks onlline for the worlds most quality comfortable hammocks.

Economy issues might be existant, but I find people are spending more time at home these days and there’s no better way to relax at home than to find time for your hammock. Honeymoon Hammocks has revised a new look to our website. easier navigation and SEO are driving more traffic to our site these days. We have also implemented our international shopping cart for our European customers. Our local business partners offering our hammocks in the Sarasota marketplace are doing very well with sales in their stores and we are very happy for them. Our friends in Highlands, North Carolina at Highlands Lawn and Garden should experience a profitable season as well with our hammocks this summer.

Chill’n in the hammock

Everyday I think about hammocks. Ok, that’s probably stupid to you but the way I see it is: my business, and my pleasure. Today was not one of those days. Get this- it’s freak’n cold in Florida right now. Usually I’m good outside at 50 degrees. Tonight it was 30 degrees. Now don’t get me wrong, I know it’s 20 degrees or less to my friends on the Northern longitudes and I too feel for you. Been there, done that! Hate it!

Hang in there, (sorry, bad pun) spring is only 60 days away. I feel for you. My hammocks are made in temperatures around 80+ degrees in S. America. We are going to make you feel like you can’t even remember these days in just a few months.

You’ll be looking forward all the more to be relaxing in your Honeymoon Hammock within the next 2 months, unless of course, your in “chilly Florida.

i can’t say that video marketing is easy. at least in what I have been trying to plan. First, arrange for the models to show up, (hopefully that even happens) lighting, clean set, tapes set, agenda intact and then if you think that’s all you have to do, think again. Tell them what to wear, provide dining, gift & comps, talk and accommodate their guests, all while you try to get the vids and pics you need to fulfill your project outline.

That was for Tuesday. Now onto Wednesday, the day of the shoot. guess what? we get to do this again next week. S_x!

Hotel in Orlando

This last weekend we had our oldest son’s birthday and he decided he wanted to go and spend it at the Nick Hotel in Orlando, I always stayed at Disney properties but he wanted Nick so we all went to Nick… after being a Disney lover… and always going to Disney…. I guess nothing is going to be good enough… the hotel was just like another Holiday Inn, just painted and decorated with some of the characters… expensive and plus you have to pay for every single activity they offer (expensive)… character breakfast was okay as some “some” of the character were there joining us… not all of them my kids wanted to see were there… food was good.

We ordered an extra remote control for the Playstation game they offer in the suites and we waited half hour until somebody without a smile came to the room. Staff is not very friendly or helpful.
It is just simple as the “MAGIC” is not in this hotel yet, if that is what they are trying to do…., people are not always with a smile.. or with a very good attitude.

My son received a birthday button and was told to wear it at all time so everyone will give him a birthday wish… and make a big deal about it….I only heard one person during the whole weekend… wishing him a happy birthday. I still remember my other son’s birthday at one of the Disney’s park… every single staff from it was wishing him or doing something to make him feel special on his birthday. You see? The MAGIC was not in this hotel.
Rooms were okay, a little small but okay. I do not recommend anyone sleeping on the sofa-bed in the suites.
The hotel is awesome as they are 3 minutes from the Disney area… so you can go to Downtown Disney at any time without driving too far. But you can always stay at one of the Disney hotels probably for less money.
No pets allowed.
In conclusion, the hotel looks good from the outside, it is okay but expensive, without the “MAGIC” I am used to from all the Disney properties and staff.

Sarasota Local

If you are a local or just visiting this beautiful city of Sarasota, a local family originally from Pittsburgh just started a website dedicated to us – www.sarasotalocal.com . They recently launched the site so it is in the baby stages but still worth a visit and joining. Especially if you like to know about what is going on around you and meet new people. In addition to news, restaurant reviews and local-color info they also have discussion groups. I joined (SarasotaMoms and PetFriends groups and it’ll be interesting to see how they develop.

Can you fall out of the hammock?

When I am asked about falling from a hammock…hhmm, well, It’s not likely. However, the spreader bar hammock will rock and one can roll off or tip over if not used correctly. If you assume the diagonal reclining position, no matter how restless you become, you will have plenty of hammock material at your sides. And, since Mayan hammocks don’t use spreader bars, they are not tippy and will not flip you onto the ground as a spreader-bar hammock can.

What if I want my hammock indoors?

You can always hang a hammock from a wall, from wall studs or ceiling joists. Use a stud-finder to locate the center of the stud or beam, then pre-drill holes and screw in hooks. Use additional rope to compensate for extra distance between hanging points.

Hi everyone…. finally my husband got his wires off from his broken jaw, last Friday he went to the doctor and Thank God!!! They were removed… I was actually tired of inventing new kinds of soups, shakes, and soft food that he could get between his teeth and feel full. He is one of those who needs to eat every four (4) hours and I am not a cooking lover so to come up with new stuff every single day, (aahhh! because he can’t deal with more than one time leftovers) it was a big stress. Now although I have to go back to regular cooking at least is regular food and regular meals that we can all eat at home.
